Which people should not be vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine without seeking medical advice?

Vaccination should not be undertaken without consulting an immunologist in the following cases:

History of the following allergies are contraindications to receiving any of the COVID-19 vaccines:

  • Severe allergic reaction (such as a life-threatening swelling that may make breathing difficult) following a previous dose of any COVID-19 vaccine or to any of its components
  • Immediate (severe) allergic reaction (such as an extensive skin reaction) to a previous dose of COVID-19 vaccine or to any of its components
  • Immediate (severe) allergic reaction to polysorbate1 or polyethylene glycol (PEG)
